where has she gone...

I just finished watching the Lifetime original move "Human Trafficking". While fighting back tears, I watched painfully as the actors portrayed the true human experience of modern day slavery.
I was enraged, sorrowful, and quickly grabbed hugs from my daughters and my wife. This was just a movie, but for too many women it is a painful reality.
What can we do to stop this? What can be done to help these women get their lives back? Again, I am horrified at the level to which sex has been perverted and distorted from it's original design. We must fight this. People must work together to stop trafficking. Please continue to educate yourself and your friends on this issue. Remember that America is one of the leading (if not the leading) countries to fund sex trafficking and slave trading.

it cannot be turned off

I want to take a moment to share with you
something that requires all of our attention.
Over the last two years, I have become
increasingly involved with organizations
and efforts to “help the fatherless and the
widows.”(James 1:27)
One issue keeps coming up and
grabbing my heart without releasing its
hold. This is the crime known as human
trafficking.
“It is the fastest growing form
of international crime, already generating
7 billion dollars per year in criminal
proceeds. There are even reports that
some trafficking groups are switching
their cargo from drugs to human beings,
in a search of high profits at lower risk.”
(UN Office on drugs and crime)
As I listen to stories about girls
that are being sold as sex slaves, my
heart aches for these daughters of God.
Girls as young as five years old are being
exploited and used for the production of
prostitution and pornography.
These girls are promised a
better life. Their parents are told they will
get a good education in a great school.
Then the girls are taken to brothels where
they may see as many as fifty men in one
night. Some of these operations are being
funded by American business men.This is
not just a tragedy. It’s an emergency.
